Biography

Building bridges

Remi Masunaga has taken part in projects bringing together artists from different horizons, in an attempt to connect artistic fields with different requirements.

Thus she has commissionned a work from videast Jean-Yves Cousseau, based on Le Courlis Cendré by Messiaen.

The live performance allows for a triple interaction between the score, the video film and the musician.

During an exhibition of works from Aurélie Thiolat, Remi Masunaga gave a concert with a selection of works from Debussy and Messiaen,  establishing a real dialogue with the visual artist’s aesthetic vision.

Finally, for her Anduze recital concert, she chose to have  poems from the Gaspard de la nuit collection by Aloysius Bertrand read before each movement of the eponymous work by Ravel :  Poetry and Music could thus juxtapose their open-ended universes.
